Male Infertility Cases and Statistics

Infertility affects men and women equally. In couples experiencing infertility, approximately 35% is due to male factors, 35% is due to female factors, 20% of cases have a combination of both male and female factors, and the last 10% are unexplained causes.

For this reason, it is imperative that both the male and female are evaluated during the infertility work-up. For males this is a basic semen analysis, but may also include blood work to check hormone levels, chromosome analysis, and genetic screenings.

INSURANCE OF SURROGATE MOTHERS

Every time we touch on the subject of surrogate motherhood we are aware of the enormous social significance; namely helping parents who are unable to have a baby for any reason. When a contract is undertaken by the surrogate and the biological parents often overlooked are the possible risks to the surrogate during the course of the pregnancy.

IVF: SYMPTOMS AFTER EMBRYO TRANSFER

Embryo transfer is a simple, painless procedure that based on placing an embryo or embryos (maximum 3 pcs.) in the mother’s uterus (surrogate mother). Very often, embryo transfer is carried out with an almost full bladder. This is necessary for more accurate control of the process by ultrasound.
IVF procedures are accompanied by hormone therapy, which can cause signs of pregnancy, even if the pregnancy might not even happen.

SPAIN DOES NOT ACCEPT “SURROGATE” BABIES FROM UKRAINE

Dozens of Spanish families several weeks (and in some cases several months) cannot leave Ukraine.
It is impossible to come back home because the consulate of Spain in Kiev refuses to give the Spanish citizenship to babies who were born in Ukraine from the surrogate mothers.
All the matter is that for obtaining citizenship of the kingdom the diplomatic mission has to confirm that the man really is the baby’s father. But just at this stage many families had problems.

SURROGATE MOTHERHOOD: THE SOCIOLOGICAL SURVEY

The federal sociological survey conducted in March 2017 about the attitude of Russians to surrogacy showed that 73% of respondents do not see sense in the legislative ban of surrogacy in order that married couple who wants to address to this procedure cannot give a birth to a baby because of their health reasons. Opinions were shared, and 27% of the respondents who got to selection categorically consider that surrogacy is morally unacceptably both on commercial and on a voluntary basis.

Participants of poll expressed also the opinion on cases when after surrogacy a biological mother wishes to keep the baby. So, 51% of respondents specified that she has the right for it, and this right cannot challenge even court. However 18% are sure that both with moral, and from legal side the baby has to be transferred to married couple who acted as the initiator of the surrogacy procedure. But and 31% of respondents refrained from the answer to this question and from further comments.

Ukraine in not India: is it possible to regulate the sphere of surrogacy?

“Ukraine became one of the centers of commercial surrogacy” — such a strong statement was announced by the Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko on July 16 at a briefing in Kiev. He reported that workers of the State Office of Public Prosecutor have found out the criminal scheme which included Ukrainian clinic BioTexCom and it was involved in the organization of surrogacy.

IVF in Israel

At the international ESHRE conference in Barcelona (Spain) data according to which Israel takes the first place by the number of the babies who were born as a result of extracorporal (artificial) fertilization in the ratio to the number of the population were provided.
4.3% of all babies in the country are born in the result of IVF procedure.
On average in Israel 30,000 procedures of extracorporal fertilization therefore about 7000 babies are born annually. During 2000-2013 about 60,000 babies “from a test tube” were born.

The age of fertility decrease was a secret for young people

Such result of was survey conducted among the Australian students.
Most of respondents could not tell correctly at what age the fertility of women and men decreases. At the same time girls were more informed as for women’s reproductive function: 45% correctly named age of 35-39 years when the women fertility decreases.
Among men only 38% of respondents correctly could specify age of women fertility decrease.
As for knowledge of man health, here the situation was worse: only 16.9% of women and 18.3% of men correctly determined the age of 45-49 years as the period of decrease in male fertility.
